all caught up, a small revamp and a mini milestone

well, hello again blog world. a crazy week long cold knocked me on my ass for a while there, but i've finally kicked it and i've been playing catch up all weekend to get the site up to date on all the good deeds that have been happening. i still have a lot to make up for in the real world from writing to yoga to checking in with friends, but i'll get there.

i did the math yesterday and it seems I've hit the halfway mark should i manage to keep the Days of Deeds project going for a full year so I decided to celebrate with a small blog revamp. a tweak more or less. i updated my charities in the sidebar and freshened the daily deed template. i don't know about you, but i was getting a bit worn out on the bright colors and white text. i needed a change and i needed it to be simple. what do you think?

big thanks to everyone who left sweet words while i was sick. i've never met most of you, but it's pretty damn nice to be wished well by strangers. now that i'm back to working order i promise to start revisiting and catching up with your sites as well.

now, lets see if we can start this week off right.

*the photo above is of my two favorite little men. i've been teaching them headstands. they like to go upside down and talk to each other. i think my friends and i should start doing the same thing. maybe our words would flow differently if they spilled out of us instead of having to climb.

i am crazy sick right now

i've been fighting off some super bug since saturday. my good deeds these past few days lack imagination and creativity. soup is lame. nyquil is yucky. antibiotics are helping.

this is what my life looks like:

my always amazing friend Sara penned a letter to my illness:

Dear Carolynn's illness,

I understand that you've been spending a lot of time with Carolynn lately. That's very understandable as she is a delightful and entertaining person. However, I think you may have lost sight of courtesy in your zeal for her company. Three days is considered the maximum length of time for a guest to remain with a host unless you have been genuinely and earnestly asked to remain. My understanding is that this is not the case in this instance. Now there's no need to feel mortified or embarrassed, we all make mistakes. The best way for you to atone for your error is to depart immediately. Thanks in advance for your speedy compliance.

Sara, friend of Carolynn.

PS. Before you get any ideas, I could not possibly accommodate a visit from you at this time. Please find a dictator or a burglar in need of some down time.

i have great friends.
